A GLIMPSE OF PASSION

Walking together in the twilight
dark gathering like the folds of a velvet cloak
and nipples tingle in the cold
like a sting in the mouth
from some tangy elixir
While arms linked
bodies rub together
pretending to share their heat.

Bacchanalian feast
firing urges
and juicy passion
erupting at the kitchen counter
shocking all the utensils into silence

Reading to each other
surrounded by silence
a moat
before the open fireplace

Bathing by candlelight
I scrub your back
rising from the foaming scented water
slick and graceful
as Coltrane and Davis.

Kisses
tattoo a fine bluish green line
from wrist to heart
while a single finger
writes a path
down the centre of your chest.

Spoons
under snowdrifts of comforters
and sanctification of morning light.
Kisses. Cayenne sprinkled confections
seal a troth
while hearts and souls
a ragout of spicy sentiments
simmer in passionate glimpses.
