I am always interested in articles, essays, short stories or poetry including the following themes or topics in English or Spanish (or bilingual text!):
Class issues and their intersection with sexism, racism and other such issues.
Domestic violence: survival, recovery, and treatment issues for abusers.
Body image/Fat Oppression and Fat Pride (A theme issue is planned for late 2000.)
Women's Spirituality: is it a cop out or something valuable that can enable us to continue our political efforts? How have you redefined your spirituality, if you have? Did you choose a different path as a result of feminism or did you alter your own understanding/practice of your present religion?
Submissions for a letters column opening debate or requesting information and resources. Readers of Sagewoman will be familiar with the Rattle--I intend something similar.
Book reviews of books you've found helpful or much hyped books women should avoid wasting their money on. Be opinionated!
Do you differ from the dominant culture in some way? If so, how has that affected your life and experience?
If you are reading this from another country, what do you think of American-style feminism? How is it different in your country? Would you even call it feminism? If not, in what ways are women working together to improve their lives? What would you most want American women to know about your lives and ideas?
This list may change periodically--be sure to check back.
